I am Responsible...

"When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of A.A. always to be there. And for that: I am responsible.”
The Southern Maryland Intergroup Association has served the community since 1977.

The tri-county area covers over 1600 square miles, larger than that of the whole state of Rhode Island.

The places we call home are North Beach, Chesapeake Beach, Solomons Island, Lexington Park, Charlotte Hall, Prince Frederick, Waldorf, La Plata, St. Leonard, Lusby, California, and yes, even Hollywood. We go south to Point Lookout at the mouth of the Potomac River, west to the sleepy little town of Nanjemoy, north to Dunkirk and Owings, and we're flanked to the east by the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. If you're visiting, enjoy your stay and contact us if you need directions and meeting times. There are 129 physical and on-line meetings throughout the week in the tri-county area, so you should find something that appeals to you.

If you already call this wonderful area home, and you're new to the fellowship, SMIA is committed to serving you too!

The SMIA meets monthly on the 2nd Saturday of each month at the Immaculate Conception Church in Mechanicsville, MD.

The Bookstall will now be open from 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM on the first and third Thursday each month. We will continue to maintain our regular hours the second Saturday of each month from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM

You can pre-order your literature and medallions by visiting the on-line Bookstall by clicking the button below

The next SMIA Business Meeting will be held on 6/8/24 at 10:00 AM.

There will be two options to attend. You may attend in person or on-line via Zoom Meeting.

We are grateful and pleased to announce that the Maryland General Service newsletter is back! Kristin B., our Newsletter Chair has committed weeks of service to provide an astounding product that we’re sure you will enjoy! We conducted a poll across the entire area to decide on a name for the newsletter, and the overwhelming majority selected “Our Common Welfare”. So please, take some time to read and enjoy it. The first issue provides information from NERASSA, our Delegate, Terry B., our Chair, Frank M., and so much more!
